company. Data leakage prevention is becoming a top priority for organizations today. The age of
electronic media and communications means that accidental, and sometimes
intentional, distribution of confidential data is a mere keystroke away.
In the past, email has been the primary concern for data leakage;
however with the growth of other business communications tools such as
instant messaging, peer-to-peer, FTP, and Webmail, companies today have
their hands full trying to maintain compliance with corporate and
governmental regulations. To combat the threats posed by outbound
traffic, Secure Computing® developed IronNet™. Initially, IronNet will
monitor HTTP/HTTPS outbound Internet traffic for compliance violations
of corporate policies and indicate the proper action to be performed on
the web request. To address other data leakage concerns, Secure
Computing will add other key protocols.
Key features:
Installation of IronNet is plug-and-play, requiring no significant
changes to the network or user environment. Among highlighted features,
IronNet:
- Unifies policy enforcement. IronNet offers a simple,
easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) for administrators to set
and enforce defined corporate policies, and apply those policies
across protocols company wide.
- Monitors all messaging protocols. IronNet initially will
analyze HTTP/HTPPS traffic, including webmail services such as MSN
Hotmail™, Yahoo!® Mail and Google GMail™. Going forward, IronNet
will analyze message boards, blog postings, peer-to-peer and Voice
over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services such as Skype™, and FTP
transmissions to prevent unauthorized protocol use before the
infraction occurs.
- Blocks and alerts. IronNet analyzes all outbound
messaging traffic in real time, monitoring for confidential
information, private customer or employee data such as private
healthcare, financial, identity or other sensitive information, and
enforces blocking and alerting administrators, compliance officers
or other policy enforcement officers.
- Provides messaging traffic intelligence. IronNet
administrators and company compliance officers can gain a complete
understanding of compliance violations and enforcement actions taken
through a complete set of easy-to-use and understand reports.
