Central Management    
Trend Micro Control Manager (TMCM)
provides centralized management of Trend Micro antivirus and content security products throughout the network. Control Manager consolidates system-wide security status information to help administrators take consistent action at different levels of the network throughout the outbreak lifecycle. A key component of Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy, an industry-unique approach that addresses mixed-threat attacks through coordinated delivery of products, services and expertise, Control Manager provides a central command center for deployment of services that deliver expertise from Trend Micro's extensive, global network of security and engineering experts, to specific points across the network.

 

Key Features

Centralized Management

Control Manager includes a Web-based management tool to configure, monitor, and maintain Trend Micro software from a central console – regardless of location or platform. By simultaneously deploying policies to Trend Micro products throughout the network, Control Manager helps ensure consistent enforcement of corporate outbreak control policies enterprise-wide.

Outbreak Management
Control Manager includes the Outbreak Commander console, which acts as a central command center for deployment of industry-unique services that deliver TrendLabs expertise and knowledge to specific points across the network. Prior to the release of a pattern file, Control Manager downloads and deploys (automatically or manually) proactive attack-specific policies from Trend Micro's Outbreak Prevention Services, a subscription-based service that provides outbreak prevention policies to help deflect, isolate, and stem attacks.

Flexible and Scalable Configuration Of Installed Products
Control Manager organizes supported antivirus servers into groups that can be remotely configured through a Web-based browser. Servers can be configured simultaneously in groups or through individual replication. The Control Manager console mirrors product information and task functions of installed products for true single-console management capabilities.

System Reporting
Control Manager collects information from installed servers throughout the network on virus events or unusual activity to help administrators identify potential threats, analyze patterns of infection, and reinforce virus protection policies. Graphical reports for activity tracking and analysis include ten built-in report templates that can create reports in PDF, RTF, HTML, or Crystal Reports™ formats (separate software and license required for Crystal Reports).

Network-Wide Support
Control Manager delivers Trend Micro's industry-unique services to all areas of the network where supported Trend Micro products have been installed, including products for the Internet gateway, messaging gateway, mail servers, file servers, and corporate desktops. As part of the policies from Trend Micro Outbreak Prevention Services, Control Manager interoperates with NetScreen™ Global PRO™ global security management console to initiate port blocking rules at the firewall.

Control Manager Agents
Control Manager utilizes Agent software to interface with installed products. All compatible products have specific Control Manager Agent modules that must be deployed to successfully integrate with the management console. Some products may require a separate download and installation of the Agent software.
