Proxy AV Appliances
The ProxyAV™ 510 and AV 810 are high performance
internet antivirus appliances that are implemented in conjunction with the
BlueCoat
Proxy SG range of proxy servers. They enable
organisations to scan for viruses, worms, spyware and trojans entering
through Web-based backdoors including:
- Personal Web email accounts where
a majority of viruses and worms propagate
- Web spam or email spam which
unknowingly activate trojan downloads or hidden Spyware
- Browser based file downloads that
bypass existing virus scanning defenses
Traditional, Web anti-virus gateways
often lack scalability and performance for HTTP and FTP scanning,
leaving desktops to defend themselves. The BlueCoat ProxyAV internet
antivirus appliances combined with the
ProxySG™ proxy servers provide scalability for virus scanning, plus complete
visibility and control of enterprise Web communications.
The ProxyAV appliances are
purpose-built systems that integrate tightly with the Blue Coat web
proxies
for deployment in medium enterprise or distributed environments. They
provide scalable performance with a choice of antivirus engines from Sophos,
Kaspersky, Panda and McAfee.
