Blue Coat proxy appliances provide caching of frequently accessed pages to minimise system response times, together with web security and policy enforcement tools that allow you to enforce your organisation’s acceptable usage policy.

URL Filtering
Blue Coat supports filtering of user access to the internet against a URL filter database such as Blue Coat Web filter or Smartfilter.

Antivirus
Virus Scanning is supported via ICAP to the Blue Coat Proxy AV appliances or antivirus software that supports ICAP protocol.

File Type Filtering
The administrator can configure the proxy server to restrict the types of file that the user can download (e.g. .htm, .asp, .doc).

Reporting
Blue Coat provides Blue Coat Reporter to provide reporting on User Web activity.
