Key Features
ANTI-PHISHING
In addition to blocking incoming threats,
the suite stops the transmission of outbound data to known
phishing-related Web sites designed to steal confidential data. This
innovative security feature helps protect personal and corporate credit
cards, bank accounts, user names, passwords, and other sensitive
information. By blocking outbound data, it complements the anti-phishing
capabilities of traditional spam filtering technology, which address
inbound traffic only.
ANTI-SPYWARE
Improved anti-spyware technology detects
and blocks spyware and grayware at the gateway before the programs can
infect clients, harm the network, and burden system resources. New
granular controls give IT managers the ability to block or allow
subtypes of grayware, including adware, dialers, joke programs, hacking
and remote access tools, password cracking applications, and others. The
suite also delivers spyware-specific activity logs and reports,
including a threat summary graph for easy and thorough analysis.
APPLETS AND ACTIVEX SECURITY –
OPTIONAL MODULE
The optional Applets and ActiveX Security
module screens Web pages for malicious mobile code by checking Java code
and validating certificates and signatures on ActiveX and Java applets.
By analyzing applets, it protects against “zero day” attacks, which
exploit unknown system vulnerabilities. It also provides added
protection against “drive-by” installation of spyware. Through seamless
integration with InterScan Web Security Suite, it provides greater
protection against mixed-threat attacks.
InterScan Web Security Suite integrates
with Trend Micro Control Manager™, a centralized console, which enables
a rapid, coordinated response to emerging threats. Other management
tools include real-time and scheduled reports with enhanced charts and
graphs. The suite also supports several LDAP external directory
services—for added ease-of-use.
COMPREHENSIVE WEB SECURITY
InterScan Web Security Suite protects
corporate networks against Web-based attacks, including viruses,
Trojans, worms, spyware, grayware, and phishing. Optional
modules—Applets and ActiveX Security and URL Filtering—can be added to
block malicious mobile code and manage employee Internet use. Built on
Trend Micro’s award-winning technology, the latest scan engine filters
HTTP and FTP traffic with minimal impact on Internet performance. As an
integrated suite, it extends Trend Micro™ Enterprise Protection Strategy
to the Internet gateway—for outbreak lifecycle management at the
enterprise perimeter.
DAMAGE CLEANUP SERVICES – OPTIONAL
SERVICE
Optional Damage Cleanup Services performs
enterprise-wide damage assessment plus automated clean up and repair of
infected files. It removes viruses, worms, Trojans, and spyware—even
unwanted grayware and remnants. It terminates virus processes and
threads in memory, repairs the registry, removes any services and files
dropped by viruses, and restores any damaged files. In addition, the
service automatically removes spyware that attempts to “phone home”
through the gateway. It delivers scan engine and pattern file updates,
plus damage clean up templates developed by leading security specialists
at TrendLabsSM.
SCALABLE & FLEXIBLE
The suite allows transparent proxy
configurations using a WCCP-enabled router or a simple transparency. It
also allows for multiple standalone configurations—more options than any
other Web security product. For added flexibility, it supports ICAP-compliant
solutions from Cisco, Network Appliance, and others.
URL FILTERING – OPTIONAL MODULE
The optional URL Filtering module enables
administrators to manage employee Internet use—limiting access by
category, group or user, time of day, day of week, and bandwidth quotas.
It filters Web content through an ever-expanding database with millions
of URLs categorized to effectively identify and block inappropriate Web
sites. Dynamic rating technology operates in real-time as users browse,
classifying requested Web sites that are not already in the database.
With scheduled and real-time reports, IT managers can see how employees
are using the Internet and identify activity that is degrading network
performance. |
