Softscan
is a hosted antivirus and anti-spam
service. It offers market-leading protection using proven virus scanning and
spam detection software in addition to SoftScan’s own intelligent scanner which
uses advanced analysis of email behaviour to block unwanted emails. Using this
breakthrough technology, Softscan is able to stop viruses before conventional
scanners have been updated.
SoftScan is always working,
always up-to-date and always alert.
Automatic updates keep you
safe
With SoftScan, unwanted emails
are stopped before they hit your network. This means that potentially dangerous
virus and spam mails are routed to external servers for quarantine, and thus
never enter your system. At the same time, all updates are done automatically,
alleviating the need for you to ensure that your systems are
kept up to date with the latest pattern updates in the event of a virus outbreak.

Browser Based Administration
Your account is administered
using a web-based management tool (ViruScope). ViruScope provides real-time
statistics and reports on the current spam and virus levels, and allows you to
tune the system to match your preferences. Reports can be run on a company,
group or individual level, and sent to any number of users within the company.
Quarantine
When viruses and
spam emails are caught, they are automatically routed
to the SoftScan Quarantine area. The system may be configured to determine
whether users should receive notifications when mails are stopped, and should an
email need to be released, it only takes the click of a mouse button.
Intelligent Scanning
SoftScan’s intelligent scanner works together
with the virus scanners to stop unwanted spam and viruses. Using intelligent
scanning, the system stop new and unknown viruses before conventional scanners
have adapted to new virus outbreaks. The scanner works by identifying
characteristics typical of a virus, spam or other unwanted content. It scans
millions of emails every day and is learning and improving each second. It is
constantly among the fastest in the world to identify and stop new Internet
threats, thereby actively contributing to the anti virus community.
