NetScreen
Firewall / VPN Appliances
The Netscreen range of internet firewall and vpn appliances
meet the needs for firewall security and VPN communications for the
majority of organisations, and represent excellent value for money.
To date,
Clearview Systems have supplied approximately 200 Netscreen hardware
firewalls to companies as disparate as 5 person PR companies, major web
trading companies, and multinational organisations linking overseas
offices.
As with all firewall
installations, proper initial configuration is critical to ensuring that
your network infrastructure is properly protected. To this end, we can
provide you with either system preconfiguration or on-site commissioning within the
UK if this is appropriate.
Once the firewall is
installed, day-to day administration is straightforward and uses either a
browser or a command line interface. There is also a central
management system (Netscreen Security Manager) for companies whose
business requirements
extend to corporate VPN networks who need central management to simplify
configuration, deployment and ongoing firewall management.

Netscreen firewall features
Every NetScreen firewall appliance provides:
- An ICSA certified stateful inspection
internet firewall allowing you to restrict connections into and out
of the corporate network, and stop hacker attacks using SYN attack, ICMP
flood, Port Scan, and others.
- Remote Office and
Remote User VPN capability with hardware acceleration for increased
performance.
- Bandwidth management
allowing you to prioritise internet bandwidth for business critical
applications such as extranet applications or E-Commerce, as well as
to de-prioritise bandwidth for bandwidth-hungry applications such as
streaming audio / video.
Optional Deep Inspection firewall
technology also protects your web and application servers from
application layer attacks by applying a deeper level of traffic analysis
to make access control decisions based on the intent of the incoming
connection.
Your choice of Netscreen
firewall is determined primarily by 3 factors:
- The number of
connections that you need on the firewall to allow you to provide the
appropriate separation for your internal network, as well as servers for
internet, intranet, and extranet applications from the public internet.
- The number of concurrent
connections that you will require through the firewall
- The number of concurrent
VPN connections.

firewall is most appropriate for your needs, please refer to the table
