Flexible Authentication
PDAs, as opposed to "normal" workstations, are frequently switched on and off during a typical working day, secure and convenient user authentication is paramount.

As well as the traditional password based authentication you have the choice of authentication via a sequence of symbols or even from biometric recognition, where a potential hacker would not only have to know the password, but also be able to replicate your way of writing it.

The authentication screen is freely adaptable to customer specific needs. The inbuilt alarm and tryout delay mechanisms provide protection against intruders.

Encrypted Data Storage and Communication
The included PDA versions of SafeGuard PrivateCrypto and SafeGuard PrivateDisk allow you to encrypt data on the PDA. Irrespective of whether your data is stored in ram, flash file store or on memory cards - your data is always protected.

The integration of the PrivateCrypto module in the Pocket Mail client allows secure data exchange via the Internet.

The transparent encryption of the PrivateDisk module allows you to use encrypted data as easily as you open and save documents. Encrypted memory cards can be used in normal Windows workstations as well together with SafeGuard PrivateDisk. So your data can stay safely encrypted on both platforms.

Effective Management
SafeGuard PDA is easy to install; simply via Microsoft ActiveSync - optionally published in Active Directory*) - or with any other professional third party software distribution system.

The central configuration of security relevant settings in the Enterprise Edition is done in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) and integrates in Windows Group Policies, System Policies or specialized third party administration systems. No proprietary additional management server is required, saving time and costs.

SafeGuard PDA comes with a set of functions that help to ensure that PDAs in a company stay secure*).

Configurable password rules allow to meet the company's password policy also on PDAs.

Forgotten user passwords can be reset via Challenge/Response by a central helpdesk in a secure way without the need for an on-line connection. This can even be fully automated 24/7 with a biometric voice recognition server from VOICE.TRUST.

Encrypted data can even be recovered with an optional X.509 recovery certificate from any Windows supported PKI - a unique feature so far on Pocket PCs.

The administrator can restrict the users permission to use the infrared port, ensure that only company SIM cards are used in company Pocket PC phones, prevent unauthorized ActiveSync and much more.
