Management Pack for Microsoft
Operations Manager (MOM)
The Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Management Pack
lets you integrate Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange
events with Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM). Pre-configured
Computer Groups, Rule Groups, and Providers are automatically
created when you import the management pack. These rules monitor
specific Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange events in the
Windows Event Log and the Windows Performance Monitor. When a rule
is triggered, the Microsoft Operations Manager agent collects data
about the event and forwards it to MOM. MOM provides you with a
central repository that you can use to monitor critical events that
occur on your Exchange servers. There is no charge for the Symantec
Management Pack.
Premium AntiSpam
Symantec Premium AntiSpam add-on subscription service, powered by
Brightmail technology and response, provides best-of-breed spam
prevention for Symantec Mail Security and Symantec AntiVirus
Enterprise Edition customers.
The solution enables organizations
to achieve high detection rates of 95% and the industry's highest
accuracy rate against false positives (99.9999%) according to Yankee
Group (2004), allowing users to safely delete spam without review.
The multi-layered spam prevention solution, with Symantec Mail
Security, leverages over 20 filtering technologies - including
reputation filtering (Trojan sources, volume spam sources, safe
sources), URL filters (fraud, email, HTTP, adult), heuristics
(header analysis, foreign language, content analysis, structural
analysis), signatures (body hash, Brightsig2, attachment), and
custom filters (allow list, deny list, custom rules) - to catch most
spam. Organizations can tailor spam-catching effectiveness and
accuracy levels with adjustable thresholds and block foreign
language spam with the help of intelligent language filters.
No new software or hardware is
required, and the service is effective immediately upon activation
within Symantec Mail Security, requiring no additional IT
administration or tuning once deployed.
Symantec's global Brightmail
Logistics Operations Centers in the United States, Ireland,
Australia, and Taiwan analyze spam where it occurs across the globe
and provide secure updates every 5-10 minutes to help thwart
attacks. |
