Web Filtering Solutions
Internet filtering is used to
prevent access to illegal or inappropriate material on the
Internet. Usually, as an integral part of an Acceptable Use
Policy (AUP) it is used to facilitate the implementation and
enforcement of an institutional AUP governing network access and
computer use. Content filtering requires all web traffic to be
routed through a proxy server or a server that sees all traffic
connecting to the Internet. The web proxy / scanning server then
blocks access to or from specific sites or specific web pages in
accordance with a URL control list and / or administrator
defined black / white lists.

Secure Computing SmartFilter is web filter software for the Internet. It installs as a plugin to the
majority of proxy servers (e.g. Microsoft ISA Server) as well as a number of firewalls (e.g. Firewall 1). SmartFilter comprises a filter list of over 2 Million URL's in 30 content related categories to which access may be selectively
granted or denied on a per user basis. SmartFilter also includes a web access reporting capability which enables companies to produce graphical reports on corporate Internet usage.
